FROM: red@cdc.org
its a side scroller meaning the game level scrolled out left and right. you could get to new levels through pipes and vines though that go up and down
Yeah! Funny story, the hero was actually designed to be our friend. We didn't take any turns, though. We fought any monsters that appeared while we were running around.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Mario sounds similar to what I played. Were there monsters in Mario, too?
thats how we deal with wild pokemon. we fight pokemon with pokemon. we have pokemon help us out day to day too. but its always been like that for us. it wont be easy to change for your world

Probably. I need to keep up with the times.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
No, I've never heard of them. You wanna tell me?
no subject
first do you know what a television is?
no subject
Yeah. It was one of the first things I learned coming aboard.

I think it makes sense. It's amazing to hear about how different other people's homes are.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
But I see! I think I've run across something like that a long time ago. It was billed as a novelty toy.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Only, I'm pretty sure it was too big to be carried around. I never saw anything like it again after we left that island.

That sounds fun! Man, I'd love to get my hands on one someday.

FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Ha ha, no, it was an island back on my home planet. Nam Cobanda Isle was its name. It was a pretty flashy place. It reminded me of a carnival.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
We helped out one of the residents. In return, he let us try his "Dragon Buster" game.

a friend told me you can buy consoles on the shopping channel on the ship but i dont know how much it costs. theyre expensive back home
FROM: red@cdc.org
a pinball machine would be even more expensive
[ And as cool as game consoles are, he doesn't want to waste a large amount of money on them when he has other places he could use it. ]
FROM: red@cdc.org
but there was an island where youre from that had a game station ? what about a tv. and what was the game like
no subject
Really? I'll have to save up my money, then. Shouldn't pinball machines be cheaper than game machines?
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Nah, sorry. I didn't see any tvs.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
If I had to describe it... it was a game where you controlled a hero. You had to fight monsters and rescue a princess.

there were monsters but you got rid of them by stomping on them so its not the same. mario is the hero of the game too

but you met a programer? thats cool. if games like that exist there what do you have where youre from. what technolgy ?
FROM: red@cdc.org
do you know what cars are
no subject
Stomping them, huh... sounds awfully violent.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Yeah, I've had them explained to me. We're still using carriages where I come from. But we've also got the capability to make tanks, cannons...
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Most of our technology's reserved for researchers or the military.
no subject
its not really violent. if its on the shopping list ill show you. do they have pictures of whats for sale ?
[ If they're lucky, Mario will be available...!!! ]
FROM: red@cdc.org
but carriages pulled by pokemon? thats old. do the military and the researchers hoard resources or something ?
FROM: red@cdc.org
technology is something that should be shared if you ask me
no subject
I'm not sure. I've never seen the shopping channel... they should, shouldn't they?
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org
Nah, it's not as insidious as that. That's just where most of the funding goes. We've got a lot of monsters in my world.
FROM: cecil.guy@cdc.org

has anyone tried training them before

the monsters
no subject
Well, no. I guess we never considered that as an alternative.
