[ The gesture is one that's been seen given by Red to other pokémon, but to Charizard it appears to be a hand held out asking for something else.

Which the pokémon will allow, lowering his head to Guy's hand than sniffing it (because he can smell the guy already). You may touch His Highness. ]

But it was important. I don't agree with how they dropped us right in the middle of it like that, but those creatures were coming straight for the camp. It would have been more trouble if they made it all the way.

[ A beat. ] We succeeded, anyway. As best as we could... not all of them died. And I haven't heard anything about anyone part of the camp getting killed.

[Seeing the pokemon accept his gesture of peace, Guy goes ahead and strokes him on the snout. The last time he saw a dragon was during the mapping missions. It'd been blue in color and capable of speech, completely different from the Charizard before him. He hadn't had the chance to pet it.]

That's true. [Given the success rate of their past missions, he has to say it's a win.] Honestly, I'm impressed. You did well under pressure, both you and Charizard.

[ A sheepish look comes onto his face, and Red shakes his head. ]

Thanks, but we didn't do any better than anyone else. Like you-- [ he motions to the man with a hand ] did you go out there alone? The moves you used were amazing. What kind of energy was that your blade made?

Ha ha, thanks. [He scratches the back of his neck, his smile a little embarrassed.] It's... well, it's tough to explain. You can call it "magic" if you'd like.

[gottacatch]

[ He blinks at Guy, but then after a moment can't help but to laugh a little. ] You too, huh? Sure, that's fine. If you ever Charizard disappear or come out of a ball, you can call it magic too.

[ He gets it. ]

Ball? [That isn't fair, Red. You're making a grown man painfully curious abut this phenomenon. How can you stuff a dragon into a ball?] What are you talking about?

[ Let me tell you about my balls, Guy. Red shakes his head, still slightly amused. ]

Back where I'm from, we have things called pokéballs that we can catch pokémon in. They look like magic, but they're actually made by science.

Charizard has one too. It's where he sleeps most of the time.

[That is a terrible joke, and you should be ashamed. In any case, Guy's eyeing Charizard up and down. He's not the largest dragon he's seen, but the fact still stands that he's about the size of a man. He looks back at Red.]

How can a ball fit something like Charizard in? That sounds awfully uncomfortable for him, if you ask me.

It's not. Charizard's never complained about it anyway, and none of my other pokémon have either.

[ Communication may make it hard to understand at first, but Red would suspect he'd know about a problem like that eventually. ]

Don't worry, it's perfectly safe. I wouldn't use them if they weren't.
